Family’s Health Should be Your House Cleaner’s First Concern.

Cleaning for family’s health first?  Many people think of cleaning only as it affects appearance, but the truth is it’s much more than that. Cleaning is the first line of defense in the health care industry. Good cleaning helps protect you from germs, allergens and other air borne pollutants while not adding more irritating chemicals to the air you breathe. Here are just a few of the things house cleaners can do to protect your family’s health.

The Air You Breathe

Here at Town & Country Cleaning Services, we aren’t required to use special high filtration vacuums that have earned both the Carpet and Rug Institute’s Gold Seal of Approval and recommendation by the American Lung Association. Remove air-borne allergens with high filtration vacuumingMost cleaning companies wouldn’t go to the extra expense for that quality level, but we do. Why? Because it does more harm than good to pick up allergens and other particles from the carpet and floors and spew them into your family’s breathing zone. Have you ever noticed that you may sneeze more after vacuuming with some vacuums?

We know that VOC’s, perfumes, and other off-gasses from cleaning products can aggravate allergies and trigger asthma attacks. That’s  why we use hospital grade micro fiber cloths to lessen chemical usage in our traditional cleaning and offer a truly chemical free cleaning for those most concerned about chemical sensitivities.

Sanitizing Your Surfaces

We don’t have to use hospital-grade micro fiber cloths, in fact at $4.00 and up per cloth most companies don’t, but we do. Why? When disinfectant cleaning agents are used incorrectly, i.e. not cleaning first and then reapplying and keeping wet for up to 10 minutes (following label instructions), they are not disinfecting and are leaving toxic residues behind. Worse, some studies are showing that improper disinfectant use is actively contributing to the emergence of Super Bugs. Independent lab tests have shown hospital grade micro fibers have achieved germ removal of up to 99.99%, a better level than the kill rate of many disinfectants. This is not to say that disinfectants don’t have a place, but when they are needed it is critical to use them properly.

Our chemical free cleaning teams use the Ladybug dry steam generator with a special de-scaling system for deep cleaning and sanitizing. Why? Because even though it costs over $2000.00 per unit, it is the only one to achieve an EPA registration as a disinfection device. In fact it has been shown to disinfect a surface in as little as 3-7 seconds. These and similar units are becoming standard for disinfecting in hospitals. We feel your family deserves a high level of protection from toxic chemicals while still achieving effective sanitation and decontamination.

Clean for Health — We Take Many Additional Steps to Protect You

These are a few of the many things we do with your family’s health in mind, but there are many more such as: color coding cleaning cloths to prevent cross contamination,  careful laundering of cloths to properly decontaminate and sanitize them.  Another step we take is to encourage our cleaning technicians to achieve IICRC certification, the only internationally-recognized certification for our industry.
